Hunter i think your rant is useless, im not lookign to start an argument, but basically what your saying is "I like ut beter than cs. i mention this because you can't really appreciate a game until you master it to at least a better than average level. I have played urban terror a fair bit, at least i did in beta2, and i don't know if leet peopel like acid will agree with me, but i think if he was being honest and not a gay flamer like he usually is, then he would admit that i was damn good for a newbie cs player that had played very little urban terror.
both are excellent, and i mean EXCELLENT games. Urban terror is a very different game, not trying tobe the same at all.for this reason i don't believe that either game is better than the other, i simply know which one i personally prefer. all these thigns WOULD be critisiams IF urbanterror was trying to be the same thing that counter-strike is, but i don't believe that it is. urban terror looks like quake, simple as that, and quake does not convey a sense of realism at all.

in cs you feel like there is gravity, and you feel like your standing solidly on the ground, i guess it just comes down to physics, i think cs has the physics for htis type of realism mod nailed down perfectly to give the right feel and gameplay. i really have no idea.īut yes, UT lacks the grit and solid feel of cs. technically that SHOULDN'T logically make any difference, but perhaps those facts meant that hte programmers approched things in a different way. whereas half-life was originaly diesigned with real world characters in mind. I don't really understand why this is so, perhaps because neather game was originalyl designed with any amount of realism in mind, but rather beefed up super humans that leap about with crazy guns. strike-force on the unreal engine suffers from the same problem. its very hard to describe but you did a good job. YES!! peacekeeper that is a brilliant description, i knwo exactly what youmean, it feels floaty. That's all I can say right now cause I'm still reading this smackdown of CS' f**ked up community. Anyone who tells you otherwise obviously hasn't put the detail up and taken time to see the intricate details within the textures. The graphics are, thanks to the Q3 engine behind it, simply amazing.
Quake3's curve technology is extensively utilised in Q3UT, enhancing already brilliant maps. They are well designed, realistic looking maps that crap all over any map you've seen in any HL-based mod.

Maps - simply awesome - full of lush eye candy (and rich ambient sounds). None of that random bulls*** that Gooseman (d*******) thinks is realistic. OH and I almost forgot to mention that unlike CS, Q3UT's weapons ACTUALLY HIT WHERE YOU AIM THEM. Depending on what weapon, there are three fire modes, semi-automatic, automatic and burst (very handy). Although they aren't totally original and theres not that many of them (its only beta2 ffs) they are well modelled and sound good. Weapons are another area which Q3UT shines through. The locational damage system is very sophisticated with individual organs and limbs able to be targetted - hands, arms, legs, feet, groins, torsos, heads, lungs, hearts, livers, spine, etc. The heavier the items the slower you walk and the less things you can carry.īunny-hopping is also a non-issue as Q3UT has a stamina system (which also has a sprint function which is VERY handy indeed). Put simply, items have weight (and a slot).
The item system has been fixed up as well, and its a much better system than CS. Grenade spamming? Not any more captain - hardly anyone uses the grenade launcher to spam any more because YOU CAN'T. Don't listen to a word those moronic, idiotic immature a****** CS playing kiddies tells you.
